(August 15, 2017) The new civilian head of the Air Force and three members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff headline the speakers scheduled to address the 139th General Conference & Exhibition in Louisville, Kentucky, Sept, 7-10.

The tentative business agenda released by NGAUS includes Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson,  Gen. David L. Goldfein, the Air Force chief of staff, Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel, the chief of the National Guard Bureau, and Gen. Mark A. Milley, the Army chief of staff.

They will each address a conference business session Sept. 8 or 9. Another four-star general, Gen. Gustave F. Perna, the commander of Army Materiel Command, will speak Sept. 10 at the Army Separate Session.

Other military speakers include Lt. Gen. Michael X. Garrett, the commander of Army Central, Lt. Gen. Timothy J. Kadavy, the Army Guard director, and Lt. Gen. L. Scott Rice, the Air Guard director.

Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer are also on the schedule, which is subject to change.

There is plenty of association business on the agenda. This includes elections for the three representatives (adjutant general, Army and Air) on the NGAUS board of directors from Area II and Area V, the Air company-grade representative and the retired/separated-Army representative.

Conference delegates will also consider resolutions that will be the foundation for next year’s legislative agenda and proposed changes to the NGAUS bylaws.
