ANNEX F: Award Determination Process
In accordance with this SOP, decisions by the NGAC President and the Scholarship Committee in are final. Scholarship Committee members must maintain candidate impartiality during the selection process. Upon submission to the NGAC President, the decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final. Individual score of the applications will not be discussed with the applicants (or any other individual). Winners will receive notification by mail upon selection and must submit evidence of enrollment, transcript, or acceptance to a qualified school prior to disbursement of the award check.
Evaluation/Selection Criteria
For Graduating High School Applicants and Applicants with Less than Two Semesters of Higher Education Credits:
– GPA (Unweighted), curriculum assessment
– Extracurricular activities, honors, and/or awards
– Recommendation forms/attachments
– Essay
– SAT or ACT scores
All Others Who Are Dependents
– GPA (Unweighted), curriculum assessment
– Extracurricular activities, honors, and/or awards
– Recommendation forms/attachments
– Essay
NGAC Member and Purple Heart Medal Recipient Applicants
– GPA (Unweighted), curriculum assessment
– Deployment record
– Recommendation forms/attachments
– Essay
