Lake Cahuilla Regional Veterans Park Monuments

The Lake Cahuilla Regional Veterans Park Monuments, located in the City of La Quinta,  dedication is set for  Friday, May 25, 2018 at 7PM.

Supervisor Perez and CVWD’s Board President  John Powell   invite you and your guests to attend. The ceremony will conclude at 8:00 PM.  Our official invitation , program, and special announcements regarding the program participants will be released shortly. Thank you and we hope to see you On May 25 as we honor our Veterans.

General Muncy to serve as Keynote Speaker at Veterans Park and Monuments dedication on May 25, 2018 ! 

Supervisor V. Manny  Perez is pleased to announce that Brigadier General Russell Muncy, Vice Commander, 4th Air Force , will deliver the keynote address at the dedication ceremony of Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

 As vice commander of 4th Air Force General Muncy has 30,000 airmen under his command along with oversite of 15 wings and two groups.  A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and former Commander of the 452nd Wing, March Air Reserve  Base , General Muncy is the recipient of  the  Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, campaign medals,  and numerous ribbons, badges, and awards. He is a Command Pilot with thousands of hours of flight time in numerous aircraft. 

This event is open to the public and free of charge. The event  formally dedicates the park in honor of our military veterans and unveils a series of monuments to each branch of the armed forces. The Board of Supervisors gave a 5-0  approval of  the name change on November 12, 2017 at the request of Supervisor Perez. The Coachella Valley Water District also supported the name change in formal board action.

A fireworks show begins at 8:00 PM and are sponsored by private donations from the Noble Company, General Henry B. Freeman Foundation, and Burrtec Waste  Services.

Veterans attending the ceremony are respectfully encouraged to wear their military decorations or other items identifying their beach of service!  We want to honor your service and Reiner those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our. nation.
